Developmental Editing

Developmental Editing is the big picture edit. I’m not digging into the nuts and bolts. I’m rooting through the factory, assessing its needs, streamlining the flow and putting it together better than before. Essentially, I’ll pinpoint problem areas in your book, and help you fix them.

To break it down, this is what I address:

  • the vision of your novel

  • the chapter by chapter structure of your novel

  • the effectiveness of your character arc(s)

  • gaps in your plot and character development

  • overall plot and scene by scene pacing

  • sloppy wording and paragraphs

  • overused words and phrases
